The expected functionality from an Issue Tracking system
While we have focused a lot on the Messaging functionality and the Conversations-Tasks interactions, there is a lot to uncover in the Issue Tracking side of things.
It is not the scope of the current Beta docs to describe the functionality of each feature in great details - especially as they will be rapidly changing in the upcoming weeks. However, the main tools for a modern, cross-functional, fast-moving software development team can be found in Makkuro:
- Tasks, Subtasks, and Checklists (in the task descriptions) represent the bulk of the tactical work that you can do.
- Projects are there to group these Tasks together, and milestones to provide a high-level overview of the progress.
- Sprints, to set the pace while you are working on a project.
- Filtering and Organization functionality to cut through the noise and focus on what's important.
- Comments on Tasks to clarify any questions or provide additional context.
- Custom Statuses and Labels to adapt the system to your workflow. These are different from the ones you encountered in the Conversations and are also different for the Tasks/Subtasks and Projects.
Here's a list of the default statuses:
Tasks & Subtasks
- Backlog
- Todo
- In Progress
- In Review
- Done
- Cancelled
Projects
